Emerging Artist Showcase – 2025
Presented by the Louis Head Tourism Festival and Events Society
Overview
What About Me? is a province-wide cultural showcase spotlighting emerging artists from across Nova
Scotia. This initiative is designed to uplift underrepresented voices through live performance, cultural
celebration, and community recognition.
Artists will be nominated or supported by cultural organizations and selected to perform live at the
2025 Harvest Moon Festival in Sable River, NS. First-place winners will also be invited to perform at
the 2026 Louis Head Summer Bash.
Performance Categories
• Cultural – Traditional, heritage-based, or community-rooted performances
• Contemporary – Hip-hop, R&B, spoken word, indie, fusion, or modern genres

Eligibility
To apply, artists must:
• Be a Nova Scotia resident
• Be between 16 and 30 years old
• Be an emerging artist (not signed to a major label or under professional contract)
• Have no more than one commercial release or professional tour
• Be supported by a recognized cultural organization
• Be available to perform live in September 2025
Awards & Recognition
• Prize pool of $2,500–$3,500
• Finalists will be featured in:
• Harvest Moon Festival 2025 live performance
• Event posters and online marketing materials
• Website artist spotlight and social media promotion
• First-place winners in each category will also perform at the 2026 Louis Head Summer Bash
• VIP artist experience and potential to open for a headliner
Community Recognition
Cultural organizations that submit support letters will be acknowledged as official community partners.
They may submit a logo to be featured on:
• The What About Me? website info and artist spotlight page
• Social media acknowledgments
• Verbal recognition during the live festival
(Note: Due to space, logos may not appear on all printed posters.)

Your application must include:
• Full name and contact information
• Artist bio or link to a public artist profile (Google Doc, website, etc.)
• Link to a sample performance (YouTube, SoundCloud, Google Drive, etc.)
• Your chosen performance category: Cultural or Contemporary
• Name and contact of your supporting cultural organization
• A letter of support (attached or linked)
